What you can expect to work on…
The Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) Accelerator Specialist position plays a key role in the production of various medical radioisotopes by ensuring reliable & robust performance of production linacs. The products will be shipped around the world for use in cancer therapies. The role is responsible for supporting manufacturing and technical transfer activities to support manufacturing readiness. This includes developing and executing operations and maintenance procedures and other necessary documentation to ensure effective process transfer between process development and operations.
 
  • Develops & implements process & system changes to improve production accelerator power, energy, robustness, reliability, and efficiency
  • Supports accelerator production team to ensure consistent beam performance, controls, and reliability
  • Manages production change control, validation protocols, process qualification & implementation of accelerator production systems in GMP/commercial environment
  • Commissioning, validation, and factory acceptance testing of new accelerator systems & components
  • Performs production process tracking, trending, & analysis for yield tracking, downtime analysis, investigations, and production KPIs
  • Develops & authors preventative maintenance procedures, troubleshooting procedures, and intervention plans/actions taken
  • Participates in new product / process transfers and validations
  • Supports the investigations & action items for NCMRs & CAPAs that occur during production operations
  • Executes continuous improvement testing operations. (including raw material preparations, equipment setup, and cleaning equipment/instrument setup, etc.)
  • Executes on analytical & process improvements for radioisotope production operations
What you need to succeed…
  • Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering field or equivalent education/experience
  • Physics, nuclear engineering or related field
  • 3+ years’ of hands on experience with the following:
    • Accelerator systems
    • Radioactive material
    • Routine production environment
    • cGMP regulated environment

Great to have…
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in science/engineering field or equivalent education/experience
  • Physics, nuclear engineering or related field
  • 8+ years’ of hands on experience with the following:
    • Accelerator systems
    • Radioactive material
    • Routine production environment
    • cGMP regulated environment
  • Experience operating in a cGMP CDMO or Finished Drug environment
  • Formal training/application of Project Management
 
Other things to know…
  • Full-time position
  • Niowave’s standard operating hours are Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
  • This position will have regular working hours Monday – Friday with an expectation of adjusting work time outside of the standard operating hours as needed
  • This position will have on-call shifts for performing production accelerator troubleshooting as needed
  • Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
