Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Donor Screening Coordinator to support the evaluation of potential donors by reviewing medical and social history information, documenting findings accurately, and collaborating with recovery partners and internal medical leadership. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare support environment, communicates professionally, and uses sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
Review referrals from recovery partners and complete preliminary screening for potential donation in a timely, professional manner.
Collect, interpret, and document donor medical and social history accurately in electronic systems.
Evaluate donor eligibility using current policies, regulations, and internal guidelines.
Collaborate with leadership, including the Director and/or Medical Director, when additional medical review is needed.
Help organize and allocate potential donors for processing sessions.
Provide after-hours support to internal and external customers as needed.
Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism in all donor-related activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Typing speed of at least 41 words per minute.
Proficiency with computers, data entry, and standard business equipment.
Experience in a relevant field such as a crisis hotline, emergency dispatch, call center, medical assisting, or similar healthcare support environment; or completed coursework in health or science-related fields.
Work Environment
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
This role may require working in a fast-paced environment and providing occasional after-hours support.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or higher.
Experience in a clinical healthcare setting, tissue bank, social work environment, or case management role.
Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) credential.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate information from multiple sources and apply policies and regulations accurately.
Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
Commitment to exceptional customer service and clear communication.
