Injection Molding
Job Description
SUMMARY:
Operation of injection molding presses to mold precision rubber parts. Process involves injecting rubber compound into a hot mold cavity where the compound will conform to the shape of the mold cavity after the cure time expires. The shift for this position will be Thursday-Saturday 7am-7pm.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Feed rubber compound into screw feed.
Operate machine through a series of buttons and switches.
Remove cured rubber from injection cavities.
Remove sleeves from mold cavities.
Remove tare trim from fin and body part of gasket.
Inspect sleeves for tears and trapped air.
Record results • Post cure sleeves in hot oven as necessary.
Assemble boots with specified components.
Pack sleeves in crate and boots in the boxes.
Complete daily production card.
Maintain clean & tidy work area
Perform other duties as required by supervision to meet production requirements.
Must be able to meet and maintain company quality and production requirements
Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma is preferred
Read, write and speak English
Document and record all required information
Must be able to use or can be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our stamping and gasket manufacturing process.
COMPLEXITY & JUDGEMENT:
Encounters quality issues & machine faults which need to be reported to the Shift Supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Incumbent will report to the Production Supervisor on a daily basis.
CONTACTS:
• Interacts daily with Senior Supervisor and Shift Supervisor
• Interacts daily with Lead Hand and Q.A. Inspector
• Occasional interaction with Health & Safety Coordinator and Production Manager
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Incumbent spends almost 100% of his/her time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of light physical labor. Lifting, pulling, pushing (100 lbs), standing and walking cover the majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, and sharp blades.
