So, what’s the role all about?
NICE Actimize is seeking hands-on, customer-focused Engineers to join its Managed Services team in an onsite role in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The role involves working closely with clients to configure, optimize, and support high-performance Actimize backend systems in a collaborative, autonomous environment.
We are looking for motivated engineers who are passionate about technology, enjoy solving complex problems, and are confident working directly with customers and internal teams.
This position offers international exposure and the opportunity to contribute to Actimize Professional Services while engaging with client leadership and business users.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a key client in South Africa, collaborating with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions using Actimize technologies.
You will deploy, monitor, automate, and support scalable, real-time platforms serving millions of users and processing billions in transactions.
The position provides global exposure and the chance to solve complex, mission-critical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
How will you make an impact?
- As MS (Managed Services) resource, you should be able to manage Actimize related operations end to end on all the environments of client which include.
- Develop/Configure/Manage software feature(s) according to design document & enterprise software standards.
- Work in multi-disciplinary environment with Architects, BAs for project delivery.
- Supporting customer by solving functionality problems.
- Enhances existing solutions to match client requirements by configuring and customizing software using Actimize software, SQL and other technologies.
- Interface independently with various R&D and PS Groups and with Customer Support.
- Design full stack automation for troubleshoot failure & Run Daily Batch process, Propose monitoring services for different Batch & Realtime Services of Actimize solutions (SAM, CDD, WLF, IFM).
- Identify and resolve operational issues (e.g. batch failures, client data feed errors, Database issues, Application server issues).
- Identify the functional level issues and provide the resolution or clarifications for the same.
- Automate the daily Tasks / processes for generating various reports.
- Proactive approach to improve System Resiliency & Performance.
- Objectively demonstrate Actimize engagement performance (prove our value to their board).
- Monitor server performance, memory utilization, CPU, file systems, databases, batch jobs, Realtime streams.
- Maintain operational documentation, e.g. incident tracking and run books.
- Experience in team handling and providing/arranging knowledge transfer (KT) to the team on issues.
- Support client testing and tuning activities in non-production environments.
- Support the client in solution upgrade activities, patch deployments and changes deployment on client environments.
- Coordinate between client and Actimize customer support teams and help CS to resolve the Issues.
- Own incident, problem, and change management activities ensuring adherence to SLA/SLOs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system stability and reduce operational incidents.
- Basic understanding of cloud or virtualized environments hosting Actimize applications.
- Provide regular operational status updates and reports to client stakeholders and internal leadership.
- Communicate risks, issues, and mitigation plans proactively.
Have you got what it takes?
- 8+ years of experience in software development and/or production support engineering.
- Experience in web application development using JavaScript and related technologies.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and common design and architectural patterns.
- Experience working with enterprise web application frameworks.
- Familiarity with public and/or private cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, virtual machines, and artifact repositories (e.g., Artifactory).
- Experience working with relational databases, both external and embedded.
- Strong experience in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting and batch scripting.
- Good knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and MS SQL Server; knowledge of PostgreSQL will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles for building scalable and high-performance applications.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git is an added advantage.
