Wärtsilä is seeking a Graduate Engineer Trainee (Warehouse) to join our team at the BelAir in Senegal. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to support our Warehouse Supervisor in daily operations and help improve the overall organization and efficiency of the warehouse.

 

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career candidate eager to gain hands-on experience in logistics, inventory management, and warehouse operations. Are you ready to join the ride?

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inventory records, adjustments, resolving discrepancies between inventory data and physical stock to ensure data consistency across warehouse/inventory management systems (SAP & Maximo).
  • Plan and coordinate the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring compliance with procedures and safety standards.
  • Ensures all parts are identified and code resolution compliance is kept at maximum.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage conditions to improve efficiency and safeguard high-value or sensitive items.
  • Lead periodic physical inventory checks and reconciliation processes.
  • Support and participate in stock-taking audits as per Agreement Management process.
  • Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels, generate purchase requirements, and ensure efficient procurement through indirect purchasing processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve issues related to inventory, deliveries, and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse processes and operational efficiency.
  • Handle documentation and compliance for dangerous goods, chemicals, electronics, and other special parts as per MSDS guidelines.
  • Ensure inventory turnover and shelf-life compliance, initiating proper disposal or scrapping of obsolete or expired materials.
  • Perform routine office activities such as updating stock cards, inventory records, and gate pass forms.
  • Ensure warehouse operations follow 5S and EHS practices

 

 

Requirements:

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a reputed university in Senegal with good academic record.

 

Experience: Internship or practical exposure in mechanical maintenance preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of warehouse & logistics.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in French
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High integrity and ownership.
  • Target-oriented and self-motivated.
