Job Description
Sixty million Medicare seniors live with chronic disease. The care system sees most of them twice a year. Cadence is building the infrastructure to support them every day.
Cadence is a clinical AI company that delivers continuous, proactive care for older adults with chronic conditions like hypertension, heart failure, and diabetes. We pair patients with a dedicated clinical team, integrate deeply into health system EMRs and workflows, and use our Clinical Intelligence platform to monitor vitals, surface risk early, optimize medications, and close care gaps between visits. The result: patients engage with care 100x more than before Cadence, clinicians focus on judgment instead of administrative work, and Medicare saves $2M a week.
We operate as a full clinical care delivery organization, not a software vendor. Our clinicians work alongside health system partners, extending the reach of local primary care providers into patients' homes. We're now applying AI agents across these workflows – from alert review and medication titration to lifestyle coaching and care coordination – with clinicians always in control of clinical decisions.
The Role
We're hiring a Strategic Finance Associate to own the financial infrastructure, modeling, and analytical rigor that support Cadence's growth and operational decision-making. You will work closely with the FP&A Manager, CFO, and cross-functional leaders across clinical, operations, and data teams. This role sits at the center of how Cadence plans, measures, and scales - translating complex financial data into decisions that affect care delivery for 100,000+ patients.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain Cadence's FP&A infrastructure, including evaluation and implementation of a purpose-built planning tool, scalable financial models, and performance dashboards that improve visibility into business performance across teams.
- Identify and automate manual financial workflows using AI-enabled tools, scripting, and modern automation platforms to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability of modeling, reporting, and data analysis.
- Develop and refine frameworks for tracking cost of care, operating expenses, and contribution margins across health system partners and programs, and build models that explain changes in unit economics over time.
- Support preparation of board materials, investor updates, and internal leadership reporting - including models and analyses that underpin key narratives around growth, margins, and scalability.
- Execute monthly and quarterly forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and partner with Accounting during month-end close to ensure accurate and consistent financial outputs.
- Build pricing models to support sales and partnership teams as they engage health system partners, and develop recommendations on pricing and unit economics for each health system over time.
- Partner with Data and Engineering to ensure financial metrics are consistently defined, reliable, and connected to the clinical and operational drivers that move them.
What You Need
- 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or a finance role at a high-growth company.
- Strong financial modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to structure analyses from scratch and translate data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and building reporting processes that surface business drivers clearly and efficiently.
- Experience evaluating or implementing FP&A or planning tools, or familiarity with BI platforms such as Metabase, Looker, or Tableau.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments - anticipating needs, taking ownership without heavy direction, and making recommendations rather than only providing analysis.
- Fluency with AI productivity tools (such as Gemini, Notion AI, or comparable platforms) and comfort applying them to structured workflows, reporting, and process documentation.
Compensation
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The base salary for this role typically ranges between $115,000 - $140,000, depending on experience, skills, seniority, and business needs. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for equity as part of the total compensation package. Actual compensation may vary by location.
