Role description:
You will join our Energy Transition-design team of the Global Business Area Resilience in our Arcadis Iasi office. One of the most important clients for our team is ELIA as a Belgian transmission system operator for high-voltage electricity, located in Brussels, Belgium, operating in Belgium and Germany. Elia's main activities include managing grid infrastructure (maintaining and developing high-voltage installations), managing the electrical system (monitoring flows, maintaining the balance between electricity consumption and generation 24/7, importing and exporting to and from neighboring countries) and facilitating the market (developing services and mechanisms with a view to developing the electricity market at national and European level). They are committed to innovation and continuously improve their operational systems, proof being the integration of over 60% renewable energy safely into the grid as part of green energy transition.
The purpose of the job is to design structure supports for primary components, connections, and grounding systems for substations.
Role accountabilities:
Your role will include, but is not limited to:
- Work in a friendly and multidisciplinary environment with colleagues from other teams and disciplines.
- Underground Civil design of high voltage cables: routing, cross-sections, and longitudinal sections, placing utilities along the cable route
- Designing software tools: Bentley MicroStation (current) and Autodesk Civil 3D (future).
- Permit plans for new diesel, using general implanting plan and occupation underground.
- Planning, coordination, and quality management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Civil Engineering).
- Professional experience in civil design field.
- Solid knowledge of 2D detailing drawings (AutoCAD - preferred).
- Strong English language skills.
- Technical and quality focus.
Nice to have:
- Accuracy and a detailed focus.
- Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk Civil 3D knowledge
- Ambition to learn new things.
