Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience/Qualifications: 2-4 years of healthcare experience in the outpatient setting. Knowledge of outpatient procedures and medical terminology required. Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills, and computer skills. Ability to exercise good judgment, time management skills and follow appropriate procedures when setting priorities and handling stressful situations. Knowledge of Healthcare Scheduling Software preferred. Position Summary The Surgery Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for the accurate scheduling of all oncology related surgical procedures and pre-admission testing appointments, in coordination with all other resource providers (i.e. Anesthesia); according to provider preferences, and patient condition. The surgery scheduling coordinator position includes the ability to brainstorm with members of the JMCPG team, the OR team, and related physicians to accommodate all departmental customers. Physical Requirements
Hand and Wrist (Test both left and right sides). Grip a dynamometer for 10 seconds with a force > 10 lbs. Pinch together the thumb & forefinger for 10 seconds with a force > 2 lbs. Supported Elbows (Test both left and right sides) Rotate wrist from left to right while holding 5 lb. weight. Fully flex and extend elbow while holding a 5 lb. weight. Shoulders (Test both left and right sides). Able to reach overhead (shoulder flexion > 135). Legs Squat. Kneel on a single knee, demonstrated on either left or right knee. ¬¬¬Push and Pull Push a stationary loaded cart with a pushing force of 20 lbs. Pull a stationary loaded cart with a pulling force of 20 lbs. Carrying Carry a 10 lb. weight for a distance of 25 feet. Lifting Floor to Table/Table to Floor 20 lbs. requirement. Table to above shoulder height 10 lbs. requirement
Threshold Requirements
These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis. Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation, TB/PPD Surveillance Program and Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
