Job Description
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The material handler is responsible for moving raw materials and product by utilizing a tow motor/ fork truck and crane. Moving finished goods from table area to warehouse, scanning bundles into inventory, rotating stock in warehouse. Additionally, responsible for unloading incoming deliveries and shipments, disposing of scrap material and utilizing overhead crane as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and apply tape measure
- Correct interpretation of quality measurements/customer requirements
- All fork truck operations (observing all safety rules and precautions)
- Understand warehouse layout and pipe/tube sizes; read and understand material tags
- Properly lift and move pipe/tube as well as anything moved by a tow motor
- Ability and proficiency in storing and stacking bundles of tubing
- Operate system scanners in all aspects performed
- Fills out tow motor and crane inspection sheets on a per turn basis
- Understand mill service requirements for stocking
- Ability to properly operate an overhead crane
- Complete knowledge of Company housekeeping rules
- Complete knowledge and practice of Company safety rules and precautions

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High School diploma/equivalent; previous experience in a manufacturing setting, machine operating skills or ability to learn and comprehend the same. Requirement to speak and read English.
