High School Special Education Teacher

Discovery Health Sciences Schools seeks Bachelor’s or Master’s degree teacher certified in Special Education. 3+ years’ experience teaching special education students in a school setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, Special Education instructional strategies such as differentiated instruction, modification of curriculum and assessments, and implementation of student accommodations. Experience with IEP development and implementation is essential. Knowledge of MTSS, BIP, and current legal policy in regard to SPED is required.
 
Familiarity with state/district compliance and uploading IEPs to the SER website is an asset. Ability to collaborate with various teachers, parents, and school leaders to be a strong advocate for students is needed. Knowledge of State testing and Louisiana State Standards preferred. Certification or interest in achieving certification in multiple areas is a plus. Position available now.
