Summary:
The Business Controller is responsible for supporting financial planning, reporting and performance management across the North America Services organization. This role ensures accurate financial oversight, supports strategic decision-making, and drives cost control and profitability across the business. This position acts as a key partner to the Head of Business Finance and collaborates closely with operations, HR, HSQE, Business Development, and other functions to ensure alignment of financial and operational objectives. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses strong analytical and business partnering skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights that support business performance.
This role will require being in the office a minimum of 3 days week.
Requirements:
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational plans.
- Deliver monthly financial performance reporting, including variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast).
- Monitor overhead and operational costs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Support financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate business decisions and performance drivers.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, HR, HSQE, Business Development, etc.) to provide financial guidance and support planning processes.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data within ERP systems (SAP, IFS) and reporting tools.
- Drive cost control initiatives and track efficiency improvements across the organization.
- Support month-end close activities, including accruals, allocations, and variance analysis.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing proactive recommendations to improve performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing financial documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Controllers, Accounting, and Business teams to ensure alignment in financial planning and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of financial processes and reports.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Contributes to continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting, and data quality.
- Provides insights on cost efficiency and profitability improvement initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and internal policies.
- Promotes a strong safety culture and adherence to HSQE standards.
- Actively contributes to a diverse and inclusive work environment aligned with company values.
- Provides financial insights and market intelligence to support decision-making.
- Supports alignment between financial and operational stakeholders.
- Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
Safety:
- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field is required.
- 3 years or more of experience in financial controlling, FP&A, accounting, or similar roles is required.
Anticipated base salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
