
Vice President, Korea Coverage, Global Banking
Job Description
The Vice President, Korea Coverage, will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships primarily with Korean corporate clients, while also supporting selected Korean financial institution relationships where relevant. The role focuses on originating and coordinating strategic banking opportunities by leveraging the Bank's full suite of products and capabilities, including transaction banking, syndicated and structured finance, capital markets solutions and advisory services. The individual will work closely with product partners and regional teams to deliver holistic solutions, drive business origination and deepen client engagement across the franchise.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary relationship manager for major Korean conglomerates, large corporates, and selected financial institutions. Develop deep client insights and build trusted, long-term partnerships to drive meaningful engagement.
Proactively originate and execute client strategies to grow revenue. Identify cross-selling opportunities across the Bank’s product suite (e.g., lending, capital markets, treasury solutions) to expand wallet share and deliver holistic solutions.
Partner with internal teams including product, credit, risk, legal, and operations to structure and execute transactions. Lead deal coordination, ensuring efficient execution of credit approvals, due diligence, and documentation.
Ensure robust compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Oversee client onboarding and ongoing reviews, including KYC, AML, and environmental/reputational risk assessments, maintaining strong governance standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; Master’s and/or CFA preferred.
8–12 years of banking/financial services experience, with a strong track record covering Korean corporate clients; experience with Korean financial institutions is a plus.
High integrity, strong ownership, and commercial acumen with proven ability to build and sustain long-term client relationships.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset; able to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive results.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Native Korean proficiency and strong spoken and written English required.
