Job Description

Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital (JEPH) invites application for a full-time (4 day) position as Program Director of the Division of Orthodontics.  Responsibilities include teaching (didactic and clinic supervision of residents), administrative duties, research, and service.  All responsibilities are at the graduate level.  The successful candidate will provide strong leadership in this division, direct the residency training program in orthodontics, participate in joint education programs with the Jefferson residency programs in GP (general dentistry), Endodontics, and OMFS.  The Division’s orthodontic program teaches contemporary orthodontics using current technologies in a contemporary out-patient multi-disciplinary practice.  We emphasize team care and have strong affiliation with Jefferson’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orofacial Pain and TMD, and Sleep and Pulmonology services.  In addition, we have ongoing affiliations with Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic and Cooper Medical Center Southern NJ Cleft and Craniofacial Team.  The Program Director will oversee the education program as well as the growth of the orthodontic services.

JEPH is in Philadelphia, PA.  JEPH is one of the largest not-for-profit teaching hospitals in metropolitan Philadelphia, PA.  The Hospital is part of Jefferson Health, a $2.7 billion not-for-profit healthcare organization and a community-based network of 37 hospitals and other healthcare services in southeastern Philadelphia and southern New Jersey areas.  Jefferson Health is one of the largest health systems and one of the largest employers in the Philadelphia area.

Candidates must have a DDS/DMD (or equivalent) degree, have clinical experience and evidence of effective teaching.  Graduation from a CODA-accredited advanced education program in Orthodontics, Diplomate status in the American Board of Orthodontics and eligibility for an unrestricted Pennsylvania dental license.  The successful candidate will have experience in teaching and mentoring residents, and collaborations with other departments and dental disciplines.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Jefferson Health offers an excellent benefits package.
