Job Summary:
The Research Compliance Coordinator administers and coordinates the day-to-day operational, fiscal, administrative, and logistical activities of the Office of Research Integrity, Security, and Compliance. This position supports multiple institutional compliance programs related to regulated research and scholarly/creative activity and serves as a key operational liaison between RISC and academic, administrative, and external stakeholders. The Research Compliance Coordinator manages departmental administrative processes, financial transactions, meeting coordination, training administration, communications, records management, and operational support activities across a broad portfolio that may include human subjects research, animal research, biosafety, radiation safety, research security, conflict of interest, and research integrity.Job Description:
Examples of Work Performed
- Administers day-to-day operational and administrative activities for the Office of Research Integrity, Security, and Compliance.
- Coordinates departmental fiscal activities, including procurement card reconciliation, purchasing, travel coordination, invoice processing, expense tracking, and budget support.
- Monitors and manages the departmental email inbox, triaging requests and responding to inquiries from faculty, staff, students, administrators, external partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Coordinates logistics and administrative support for compliance committee meetings, operational meetings, training sessions, interviews, and campus visitors.
- Interfaces with Sponsored Programs Administration, Accounting, Procurement, Human Resources, Facilities, Information Technology, and other institutional offices to facilitate operational and compliance-related activities.
- Serves as an operational liaison with academic departments, research personnel, and institutional stakeholders engaged in regulated research and scholarly and creative activity.
- Assists faculty, staff, and students with required compliance training access, completion tracking, and related administrative support.
- Maintains institutional training records and monitors compliance with required training obligations.
- Assists with onboarding activities for faculty, staff, students, visiting scholars, and other individuals participating in regulated research activities.
- Coordinates travel, itineraries, lodging, and meeting schedules for visitors, auditors, consultants, interview candidates, and external collaborators.
- Maintains confidential records, databases, spreadsheets, and electronic filing systems in accordance with institutional policy and regulatory requirements.
- Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of operational procedures, forms, workflows, and administrative guidance documents.
- Generates operational reports, tracks deadlines and workflow metrics, and assists leadership with administrative and compliance reporting needs.
- Supports departmental strategic initiatives and special projects through coordination, communication, tracking, and administrative implementation activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting research administration, compliance, higher education administration, or regulated operational environments.
- Experience coordinating meetings, maintaining records, and managing complex administrative workflows.
- Experience with financial reconciliation, procurement, or budget tracking.
- Experience working with electronic research administration or learning management systems.
- Experience communicating with multiple stakeholder groups in a professional environment requiring discretion and confidentiality.
