This position plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity of the Business and Client Services support model within RBC across separate business lines. The level of accuracy impacts the business and settlement process and mitigates risk associated with all operational tasks. The potential for financial loss associated with this function can be considerable. The role is pivotal in importance of upholding the integrity of the RBC Brand within the market. The staff member will have the ability to verify payments and settle transactions. Adherence to RBC standing orders, procedures and controls. Strict adherence to FX Global Code and Bank of England UK Money Market code
Working hours : 3.00PM -12.00AM / 4.00PM -1.00AM
What will you do?
- Responsible for confirmation and settlement of all Securities Settlements trades
- Ensure all transactions are processed in accordance to the bank rule, Standing orders, circulars, laid-down procedures and local requirements
- Ensure all daily processing and settlement tasks for the team are completed in a timely and accurate manner, following established procedures and standing orders of RBC
- Ensure intra and EOD checks are conducted daily with any outstanding issues identified and actioned or escalated as appropriate
- Provide relief support and other duties as assigned on all functions performed across the teams
- Ensure effective channels of communication with both Front Office and internal Global BCS colleagues as well as other functions
- Prepare monthly attestation PEGA and ESOD
- Ensure escalation of issues / risks to management
- Identify key areas for improvement and development to create operational efficiencies
- Seek to mitigate and minimize risks
- Other duties as assigned by management
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Minimum 1-3 years of operations experience
- Basic working knowledge in SWIFT, Real Time Payment Systems, International Settlement Rules, Industry codes and best practices
- Basic understanding of operational risk, impacts and preventative control framework
- Ability to perform analysis of business processes
- Ability to work shift hours to cover EMEA time zones
Nice-to-have
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Strong PC skills
