Location: Hurst, Texas
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our Pediatric Prescribed Extended Care Center (PPECC). Our team provides skilled nursing care to medically fragile children in a supportive, family-centered environment. The LVN will work closely with RNs, CNAs, therapists, physicians, and families to ensure high-quality pediatric care throughout the day.
This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about pediatrics and enjoy building long-term relationships with patients and families in a collaborative setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medically fragile pediatric patients
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising RN and physicians
- Administer medications, treatments, and feedings as ordered
- Assist with tracheostomy, ventilator, G-tube, and other skilled nursing interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR systems
- Follow individualized care plans and physician orders
- Support daily activities while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Communicate effectively with caregivers, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and PPECC regulatory standards
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training/education
Qualifications
- Current Texas LVN license in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Experience with medically fragile children preferred
- Experience with trach/vent, G-tube, or pediatric home health is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
