On-site requirement, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, located in Egg Harbor Township
POSITION SUMMARY
The Leave Specialist is responsible for administering all leaves of absence for AtlantiCare’s self-insured and self-administered short-term disability program. The leaves administered include: FMLA, NJFLA, ADA, military, unpaid personal leaves and SAFE Act leaves. The Specialist ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations while understanding and supporting AtlantiCare’s policies and programs. The Specialist is responsible for communication with managers and representatives from Human Resources on matters relating to leaves, including policies and procedures. The Specialist interfaces with managers, Human Resources and Payroll. The Specialist serves as the principal point of contact for answering LOA-related questions and provides training. The Specialist creates management reports relating to leave and completes data analytics. The Specialist provides case a management for leave cases.
This position reports to the Corporate Director Integrated Disability within the Legal Department. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or specialized legal training required. Basic accounting principles required in some functions.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE: 5 years legal department experience, claims experience, workers’ compensation and/or leave experience preferred. Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel, required. Good interpersonal and customer service skills required. Candidate is detail-oriented and able to function independently.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires repetitive motion, fingering, hearing, pushing, reaching, reading, seeing, speaking, standing and walking a majority of the time. This position requires lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally. This position requires working with such equipment as a computer terminal, a fax machine, a copier and a telephone.
