Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG) is looking for a Parts Specialist / Counter Person to join our team for following hours:
🕒 Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM!
What You'll Do:
The Parts Specialist / Counter Person is responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement, distribution, inventory control, and delivery of parts, software, and accessories to support service technicians, fleet maintenance operations, and customers. This role ensures the timely availability of quality parts, minimizes equipment and vehicle downtime, maintains accurate inventory records, and delivers exceptional customer service while contributing to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the parts department.
Job Duties:
Assist technicians and service staff with locating, ordering, and providing parts needed to perform repairs and maintenance.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels by monitoring stock, reordering parts as needed, and minimizing shortages or excess inventory.
Source parts from suppliers and manufacturers, obtain pricing and availability, negotiate costs when applicable, and place purchase orders.
Verify the quality, accuracy, and compatibility of parts for vehicles and equipment.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors while evaluating performance and seeking cost-saving opportunities.
Coordinate the distribution of parts to technicians, service departments, repair facilities, and field service locations.
Pull and stage parts for technicians and service personnel.
Process warranty parts, core returns, and returned parts in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, transactions, purchase orders, returns, and parts usage.
Monitor and manage costs associated with parts procurement and inventory.
Provide pricing, availability information, and quotations to customers.
Fulfill customer requests and process customer orders according to specifications.
Communicate with customers regarding parts inquiries, availability, and related issues.
Work closely with technicians, service personnel, customers, and vendors to ensure parts are available when needed.
Address issues related to parts availability, compatibility, quality, and delivery to minimize operational disruptions.
Ensure all parts meet company safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Follow dealership/company procedures for cash, credit, and check transactions.
Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers and uphold high standards of customer service.
Assist in resolving customer concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including routine housekeeping tasks.
Use company equipment and resources safely and efficiently.
Contribute to team goals and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in automotive or diesel technology preferred.
Parts department, parts coordinator, parts specialist, or related experience preferred.
Medium- and heavy-duty truck parts experience preferred.
Knowledge of automotive, diesel, fleet, or equipment systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, suspension, and related components.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Inventory control and supply chain experience preferred.
Data entry and strong typing skills preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to effectively listen, assess customer needs, and provide solutions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
Forklift certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to pass post-offer drug screening, physical examination (including a lift test), and background check
Compensation:
$22-$28/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Plus Commission Plan
