Description: The Operational Lead, Collision Estimatics at Tesla leverages deep industry knowledge from insurance or collision sectors to establish and maintain the gold standard for estimate writing, ensuring fairness and accuracy. This role focuses on standard operating procedures for Collision estimating, including system flow, understanding repair times and collision operations, and driving operational excellence through expertise in management and estimating systems. This position will sit in Fremont, CA or Austin, TX.
Responsibilities: Understand collision estimates to ensure accuracy, fairness, and legal compliance for Tesla’s estimating quality standards Define and document the gold standard for writing estimates at Tesla, promoting consistency and transparency Analyze and assess the impact of new standards or features on revenue, efficiency, productivity, and customer service Collaborate with IT and operations teams to integrate and optimize management systems and third-party estimating tools used by Tesla Provide insights and recommendations to improve collision repair processes based on industry best practices, between insurance and vehicle owner customers Support cross-functional initiatives by applying IT project management skills to implement system or process enhancements Define and prioritize the product roadmap for Collision estimating related functions
Requirements: Proven experience in the insurance or collision industry, with a strong background in estimate writing and auditing Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Automotive Technology, or equivalent experience In-depth knowledge and a strong point of view of repair times, collision operations, and industry-standard practices for fairness in estimates Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, Jira, as well as management systems and third-party estimating platforms used in collision repair operations Demonstrated IT project management experience, with the ability to lead system integrations or process improvements Strong analytical skills to measure and evaluate impacts on revenue, efficiency, productivity, and customer service Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document standards effectively
