Job Description

 

Purpose of the position 

Support the Trackwork (TW) engineering activities of a project or program, ensuring high-quality design and integration of track systems within overall railway infrastructure.

ORGANISATION

Reports directly to:

  • Project Track Engineering Manager (PrEM) 

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

Main responsibilities:
Support  the TW basic engineering activities of a project or program: Provide TW general arrangements, technical specifications, layout rules, earthing and bonding (E&B) and N&V principles, equipment and components docs., interfaces specifications                                                                                                            Ensure the technical validation of the supplier’s components offers. Assist the TW Design Leader for coordination / interfaces with the TW engineering team,

  • The TW engineering team
  • Other sub-systems of the project
  • The customer
  • Project management team
  • Suppliers, subcontractors, and partners

Provide technical support to Construction, Quality, and Test & Commissioning teams regarding design-related issues. Participate in as-built documentation updates and drawing modifications when requested. Contribute to Return of Experience (REX) activities for continuous improvement.

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Graduate from Engineering school in preferred Civils. Mechanical science also is acceptable.

Experience

Mandatory:

  • A minimum of two-three years of experience within a railway engineering department knowledge of TW components.
  • Geotechnical and/or structural calculation knowledge as well as track alignment knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of railway track design principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a complex project environment.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office pack and AutoCAD (Civil 3D is preferred)

Desirable:

  • The candidate must have proven experience in slab track design and a comprehensive understanding of all related track components and systems.
