The UW Medical Center – Montlake Heart Transplant Team has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN).

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Montlake & SLU provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services including general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides expert nursing to post heart transplant patients
- Integrates patient and family education into the delivery of care, ensuring educational activities are culturally appropriate and are tailored to the patient’s and family’s ability to comprehend and participate in the post-heart
- Provides care for individual patients over the telephone
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes or needs based on the patient assessments
- Systematically assesses the need for and the delivery of nursing services that meet patient care requirements,
REQUIREMENTS
- BSN
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
- 2+ years of cardiac-related nursing experience in a cardiac ICU and/or Cardiac Telemetry Unit
- Current BLS & ACLS
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
