Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Wiehler Mechanical Ltd. is looking for a Health, Safety & Fleet Advisor to help build and maintain a strong safety culture across our organization. In this role, you'll partner with leaders and field teams to ensure compliance with Alberta health and safety legislation, oversee our COR program, and support the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being in the field, coaching others, solving problems, and continuously improving the way we work.

WHAT WE OFFER

Competitive Salary
Earn $65,000-$85,000 per year, based on your experience, qualification and demonstrated skills.

Stable, Flexible Schedule
Enjoy consistent Monday to Friday schedule, typically 8:00am to 4:00pm, with flexibility to support occasional job site visits, training, or incident response when needed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Health & Safety

  • Champion a proactive safety culture through coaching, training, and education.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta OHS legislation, WCB requirements, and client safety standards.
  • Coordinate and maintain the company's COR program, including internal and external audits.
  • Conduct job site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety observations.
  • Lead incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate employee safety training, orientations, and certification renewals.

Fleet Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of the company fleet.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, registrations, and insurance.
  • Monitor fleet performance and telematics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Administer the company's driver safety program, including coaching and follow-up after incidents.

Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Human Resources, and field leaders to improve safety performance.
  • Analyze safety and fleet data, prepare reports, and recommend improvements.
  • Support return-to-work and modified duty programs following workplace injuries.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of health and safety experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience managing COR programs and conducting incident investigations.
  • Experience coordinating commercial vehicle fleets.
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation, WCB processes, and construction safety practices.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License with a satisfactory driver's abstract.

  • COR Internal Auditor
  • Standard First Aid
