The Trade Compliance Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and compliant movement of goods across borders. This position is responsible for supporting import and export operations by securing all required permits, maintaining accurate regulatory controls, and ensuring proper classification, valuation, and origin determination. The role is essential in enabling efficient delivery to customers and manufacturing sites while minimizing customs compliance risks.
This position reports to the Customs & Trade Compliance Manager and is part of the Legal & Company Secretary function, based in Shanghai, China. This is an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Coordinate and support stock transfers between global offices, ensuring efficient and compliant cross-border movement of goods
• Prepare and review export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and supporting customs declarations
• Apply for and manage CIQ permits and other regulatory approvals for export of manufacturing materials and inventory from China
• Track inbound and outbound shipments to and from China, proactively identify customs clearance risks, and troubleshoot delays
• Ensure all import and export activities comply with applicable Chinese regulations and international trade requirements
• Maintain accurate product classification (HS code), origin determination, and customs valuation data in line with regulatory requirements
• Support internal stakeholders (e.g., logistics, supply chain, manufacturing) on trade compliance matters and shipment readiness
• Assist in maintaining internal compliance controls and documentation to support audits and regulatory inspections
• Other ad hoc duties as necessary
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain /Logistics or a related field
At least one year of experience working in import/export relevant department, familiar with international trade regulations and China customs compliance.
