Job Description
About Nothing
Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again.
Founded in London in 2020, we’ve grown from idea to global challenger in just a few years. Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, and C Ventures, and investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’re now sold in 40+ markets with millions of users worldwide.
About the Team
Nothing is building a consumer tech brand that moves and feels nothing like consumer tech. The US commercial team is the newest frontier, a small ambitious group tasked with taking the brand from a cult favourite to a genuine cultural force in the most competitive market in the world. The VP of Marketing is a founding hire for this team, working closely with the Chief Brand Officer to write the US playbook from scratch. You'll own the marketing plan and budget, lead product launches, and take Nothing beyond the tech press and into the conversations that actually shape culture.
What You'll Do
- Own and execute the US marketing plan. Set the strategy, control the budget, and report directly to the Chief Brand Officer.
- Lead full-funnel product launches across paid, owned, and earned channels. From hero city OOH to digital, nothing is out of scope.
- Expand Nothing's cultural footprint beyond the tech vertical. Place the brand in national press, lifestyle titles, and fashion media where taste is actually made.
- Build and manage trade and channel marketing programmes in close partnership with the US Sales team to drive customer acquisition and retention at retail.
- Shape the US brand narrative. Define the point of view that makes Nothing mean something in a market full of noise.
- Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing marketing team. Set the bar for craft, rigour, and creative ambition.
- Build a test-and-learn culture into every always-on programme. Measure what matters, cut what doesn't, and share what works.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in a senior marketing leadership role at a fast-growth consumer tech or lifestyle brand. You have a track record of building genuine brand equity, not just awareness.
- A current, credible network across US media. You have relationships that open doors in lifestyle, culture, and fashion, not just Engadget.
- Comfortable owning a budget and defending it. You know when to spend big and when scrappiness beats scale.
- Proven ability to create launches that transcend the product. The kind that generate press, cultural conversation, and a waiting list all at once.
- Experience blending startup pace with the discipline needed to scale. You've done both and know which mode the moment calls for.
- A direct communicator who doesn't hide behind process. You give clear direction, take clear accountability, and say what you think.
- Deep 360° fluency across brand, performance, channel, and trade marketing. No functional blind spots.
