Position Summary

The Chief AI & Innovation Office provides strategic technology solutions, and innovation to all levels of Texas government. The student in this role will partner closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional IT teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions for the Tech4TX applications. Performs complex (journey-level) work, under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

· Tests existing technical user guides against as-built cloud-based software applications.

· Reviews, edits, and composes, technical user guides or manuals, materials, and reports, and other technical documentation.

· Creates training videos for end users.

· Researches, develops, and disseminates information with clarity and in a manner that meets accessibility standards.

· Arranges for the duplication and distribution of documents, publications, and reports.

· Consults with staff on the development of materials by gathering accurate information and translating technical content, including descriptions of concepts, process, and systems, into clear, user-friendly language.

· Maintains records and files of work and revisions.

· Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Education

· A recent graduate, or a student currently enrolled in a college or university as an undergraduate or graduate with a major or course work in communications, business administration, English, education, or a related field.

· Must possess academic performance that is considered in good academic standing by college/university standards (High School diploma required).

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

We are interested in students with skills in the following:

· Knowledge of the techniques and methods of planning, organizing, and writing various types of materials; research methodology; and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.

· Knowledge of office procedures; spelling, punctuation, and grammar; business or program terminology, methods, and procedures.

· Skill in writing technical and business documents, and in the use of a computer and applicable software.

· Skill in the use of computers and office equipment.

· Ability to create video training content that demonstrates for software system end users how to use the software.

· Ability to conduct research; to compose, review, illustrate, and edit technical documents, materials, and reports; and to communicate effectively.

· Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, and reports; to transfer stock from one location to another; and to communicate effectively.

· Ability to understand, follow and convey brief oral and/or written instructions.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective and cordial working relationships at all organizational levels, including agency management, direct supervisors, co-workers, internal and external customers.

· Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to support and contribute to a cohesive team environment.

· Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks within a given timeframe.

· Comply with all applicable safety rules, regulations, and standards.

· Ability to comply with all agency policies and applicable laws.
