Purpose of the role
To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability.
Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues. .
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
- Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

What will you be doing?
Barclays Services Corp. seeks Test Engineer AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):
Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for complex web applications using Selenium and Playwright, and for APIs using Rest Assured; requires strong knowledge of automation frameworks, object-oriented programming, and CI/CD integration.
Build and maintain reusable automation utilities using Java (Maven) and Node.js to validate infrastructure and application migrations (e.g., Active-Active, RHEL 7→8, Tomcat 8→9, AMQ 6→7, Kafka→AMQ, Oracle 19c DB), requiring deep understanding of middleware, databases, and distributed systems.
Validate authentication and identity management migrations (e.g., TIAA migration to bearer token, BAM migration from LDAP, PACER password remediation) through automated test coverage utilizing Rest Assured; requires expertise in authentication protocols, security controls, and password vaulting strategies.
Automate validation for monitoring and observability systems using Selenium (eSaaS Kibana clusters, AppDynamics migrations, CDT→MOM, AOPM), leveraging strong knowledge of logging, monitoring, and performance tracking frameworks.
Implement using Groovy based Jenkins jobs automated testing of certificate renewals, Akamai onboarding for DDOS L7 protection, and LTM-level cert updates requiring a solid understanding of SSL/TLS, networking, and load balancing concepts.
Collaborate closely with DevOps and platform engineering teams to integrate automated validation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/Chef/Docker, requiring hands-on experience with containerization, batch scheduling (TWS), and orchestration of test execution.
Design automated test strategies for data pipelines, schedulers, and middleware (AMQ, Kafka, Ab Initio, TSYS) to ensure reliable system integrations, demanding strong knowledge of enterprise middleware and ETL frameworks.
Validate enterprise marketing platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and the Marketing Offer Management (MOM) tool, requiring strong knowledge of credit card offer management workflows, content validation, and automation of end-to-end campaign delivery.
Develop Kibana/Splunk, TeaLeaf and App Dynamics dashboards and reporting utilities to track automation execution and defect metrics, requiring skill in data visualization and test reporting practices.
Apply security, compliance, and risk management to automate validation of ORAC vulnerability fixes (TLS versions, ciphers, kernel updates, secrets management, and PII protection) to ensure banking systems meet regulatory and internal standards.
Minimum Salary: $189,592 per year
Maximum Salary: $195K per year
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
