Job Description
POSITION SCOPE: The Mary Campbell Center is first, last, and always, home to 68 residents. The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing professional massage and body treatment services including other modalities that promote relaxation, pain relief, rehabilitation, and overall well-being. The role involves assessing resident needs, applying appropriate massage techniques, maintaining accurate treatment records, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. The Massage Therapist works within established professional, ethical, and regulatory standards while delivering exceptional client care and customer service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The Massage Therapist at the Mary Campbell Center must 1) be a good person of high character who consistently works with a positive attitude and demonstrates compassion and understanding for residents with varying degrees of disability, Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Completion of an accredited Massage Therapy training program. Licensing and Certification: Current Massage Therapist license or registration as required by state, provincial, or local regulations. Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years of Licensed Massage Therapy experience. In the state of Delaware a Licensed Massage therapist must have a Delaware Busineess License and Liability Insurance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform professional massage therapy services using appropriate techniques and treatment protocols.
- Conduct resident consultations to assess health history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and preferences.
- Monitor resident comfort and response during treatments and modify techniques as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential resident records, treatment notes, and progress documentation.
- Educate clients on wellness, stretching, posture, relaxation techniques, and self-care practices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary treatment environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, linens, and supplies before and after appointments.
- Adhere to all applicable licensing requirements, professional standards, and organizational policies.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all residents, colleagues, and other healthcare or wellness professionals.
- Recognize conditions that require referral to a physician or other qualified healthcare provider.
- Manage appointment schedules.
- Promote a positive client experience through professional, courteous, and respectful service.
- Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuing education activities as required.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy regulations.
