We are looking to appoint a Senior Finance Officer – Technical who is a conscientious individual, confident, enthusiastic and motivated in their approach to work. This role will bring you to the heart of our organisation working within our expanding Technical & Reporting team. If you like a role that offers variety and each working day to be different, this is the job for you. We are a small unitary authority which means we can make things happen quickly and there is always something new and interesting happening.
You will need to be able to have excellent analytical skills, effective communication abilities, be able to identify opportunities where potential solutions can add value to the organisation and project manage. This role can accommodate office based or hybrid working, depending on your preference.

Skills
Essential:
- The necessary skills to assist with system issues and decide on the fixes applicable.
- Eye for detail and investigatory skills with the confidence to follow up and question procedure & create/implement solutions.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a Team.
- A pragmatic and analytical approach to problem solving.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge
Essential:
- Technical knowledge on how to support & maintain several different databases.
- Basic knowledge of the latest report writing applications using SQL (Sequential Query Language) for both Oracle and SQL Server - With the ability to grow and expand on this knowledge base with training provided.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Qualified for example to BTEC Level 4 Diploma in IT or an equivalent IT qualification.
- The post holder should hold or be working towards a nationally recognised IT qualification, covering a broad range of subjects/modules.
