At Wärtsilä, our Project Services organization brings together 400 professionals across the globe, delivering newbuild and retrofit projects from sales to delivery. Within this organization, Project Sales focuses on large and complex retrofit solutions, often driven by efficiency improvements and decarbonisation.
We are now looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Hybrid Retrofit Sales team. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with a strong customer-facing approach to support the sale of hybrid battery solutions for vessels.
The preferred location for this position is Stord, Norway, but other European hubs such as Hamburg may be considered.
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, your work will include:
- Supporting sales of hybrid battery retrofit solutions with direct contact with ship owners
- Preparing cost calculations and pricing for hybrid electrical solutions
- Developing technical and commercial sales documentation
- Providing technical support to Wärtsilä global sales teams during the sales phase
- Supporting customers by clarifying technical solutions and requirements
- Contributing to the definition of solution scope and content for customer offerings
- Collaborating closely with internal electrical experts, sales managers, and account teams worldwide
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- A solid understanding of electrical power systems (marine systems knowledge is a strong advantage)
- Initial experience in engineering, with interest or exposure to sales activities
- Customer-oriented mindset and willingness to develop in a sales-focused role
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities in parallel
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience in the marine industry is highly desirable
