Job Requirements

Echo Tech, PRN Day shift role


JOB SUMMARY:

Schedules and performs Echocardiographic lab services procedures within scope of credentials and training, which may include electrocardiograms (ECGs), assisting with exercise stress tests, and other duties as assigned. Prepares patients, explains procedures to patients, monitors intracardiac responses, takes and records measurements, and calibrates and records cardiac output.



Primary Responsibilities


  • Perform noninvasive cardiac procedures within scope of practice.
  • Perform echocardiograms imaging techniques to assist in the treatment of cardiovascular medical issues.
  • Identify accurate equipment and technical factors based on individual patient needs and demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality patient care.
  • Apply knowledge of cardiac sonography principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, physics, and position.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audit, quality control, and performance review.
  • Ensure high quality images and data is collected to assist cardiologist diagnosis and patient care.
  • Practice according to policy and best practice standards.
  • Adhere to departmental policy procedures, quality, and safety standards.
  • Accurate documentation of patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of equipment to visualize and record quality images of the structures of the cardiovascular system.
  • Submit patient billing within 24 hours of procedure.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Work Experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


  • Advanced knowledge and working experience with Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging Software
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record
  • Ability to analyze echocardiographic images and identify abnormalities
  • Effective communication with patients and physicians
  • Ability to maintain and operate ultrasound equipment
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a clinical setting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.

Education & Experience - Required


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound Education Program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • 1 years of experience

Education & Experience - Preferred


  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification
