Job Description

Role Overview

Visa is building its next-generation digital money capabilities. Stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and other blockchain-based innovations are reshaping how value moves—particularly in cross-border payments, treasury flows, and programmable commerce.

The Senior Director, Stablecoin Partnerships & GTM will own and drive Visa’s go-to-market strategy for stablecoin-based solutions across Greater China, positioning Visa at the center of this evolving ecosystem.

This role combines strategy, business building, and ecosystem leadership, working across financial institutions, fintechs, blockchain infrastructure providers, and regulators to define how Visa participates—and wins—in this new landscape.

This role is based in Hong Kong reporting to the Group General Manager of Visa Greater China Region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Go-to-Market Strategy & Business Build

  • Define and execute Visa’s stablecoin GTM strategy for Greater China, including priority use cases (e.g., cross-border settlement, treasury, B2B flows).
  • Identify and prioritize target segments, markets, and partnership models across Mainland China, Hong Kong & Macau, and Taiwan.
  • Shape product-market fit and monetization strategy in collaboration with global and regional product teams.
  • Scale solutions from proof-of-concept to commercial launch, including pricing, packaging, and client adoption.

2. Ecosystem & Market Development

  • Build and manage a high-impact ecosystem of partners, including banks, fintechs, merchants, crypto infrastructure providers, and blockchain networks.
  • Lead strategic partnership development and deal execution, from sourcing through negotiation and closing working across other relevant teams.
  • Position Visa as a trusted network-of-networks, bridging digital currency ecosystems with global payment acceptance.

3. Regulatory & Industry Engagement

  • Engage with regulators and policy stakeholders (e.g., HKMA and broader regional ecosystem) to stay ahead of evolving frameworks and contribute to industry dialogue.
  • Help shape market perspectives on stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and CBDCs, aligning Visa’s strategy with regulatory direction and client needs.
  • Translate regulatory and industry developments into actionable strategies and product direction.

4. Executive & Thought Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on digital currencies and blockchain, representing Visa internally and externally.
  • Lead C-level client engagements and strategic discussions, influencing senior stakeholders across the ecosystem.
  • Represent Visa in industry forums, client events, and executive dialogues on the future of money movement.

5. Internal Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence

  • Partner closely with Product, Solutions, Client Account Management teams (FI, and Fintech), CMS, Risk, Legal, and all other relevant teams to align strategy and execution.
  • Provide market insights and strategic guidance to Greater China and Asia Pacific leadership.
  • Drive internal capability building, including education, training, and knowledge sharing across teams.

Why This Role Matters

This role is central to defining Visa’s role in the future of money movement. As stablecoins and digital currencies gain adoption, they are introducing new settlement rails and business models that could reshape global payments.

Visa’s opportunity is to connect these emerging ecosystems with its global network, enabling scalable, compliant, and interoperable solutions. This role will ensure Visa is positioned not just to participate—but to lead—in this transformation.
