Job Title: Rack Pusher

Department: Cut / Trim / Slicing

Position Summary

The Rack Pusher is responsible for safely moving product racks from the stack-off area to the yield scale and other designated areas within the production floor. This role ensures accurate product handling, proper communication with the Yield Scale Operator, and supports overall production flow while maintaining Tyson Foods safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Transport full racks from stack-off area to the yield scale for weighing.

- Communicate correct product codes to the Yield Scale Operator.

- Push racks into blast tunnels and other designated areas.

- Assist Rack & Wheel Movers as needed.

- Move racks to rework areas when required.

- Follow all plant procedures for starting and ending shifts.

- Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure safety.

Safety Responsibilities

- Follow all Tyson Foods safety policies and procedures.

- Push racks from behind; do not pull.

- Stay alert to pedestrian traffic and moving equipment.

- Never place hands in running equipment.

- Use proper tools to clear clogs and jams.

- Work with team members when moving racks over hazardous areas.

Working Conditions

- Exposure to high noise levels.

- Wet and slippery floors.

- Frequent pushing of heavy racks.

- Work around moving equipment and production lines.

Required PPE

- Hearing protection

- Hard hat or bump cap

- Slip-resistant, steel-toed footwear

- Safety glasses (as required)

- Hairnet and additional PPE as required

Qualifications & Skills

- No specialized training required.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong attention to safety and detail.

- Ability to communicate effectively.

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Physical Requirements

- Frequent standing, walking, and pushing of racks.

- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment.

- Repetitive motion throughout shift.
