General Notes

Position is responsible for assisting in Project ALIGN data collection and instructional coaching.

Purpose

Coordinate and manage research data collection activities and provide instructional support for a federally funded, multi-state education research project.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage all data collection materials, including assessment protocols, student labels, teacher packets, surveys, and secure audio-recording equipment to support accurate and efficient data collection activities.

  • Collaborate with the MCPER Database Manager to develop, test, and maintain REDCap data collection systems and forms that meet project requirements and support data quality assurance processes.

  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of data collection and data entry, including consent documentation, survey administration, classroom observations, audio recordings, and student assessments, ensuring data are complete, accurate, secure, and collected according to project timelines and protocols.

  • Generate REDCap reports and develop spreadsheets and tracking systems to support project monitoring, data management, and preliminary analyses.

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with teachers, administrators, and district personnel to facilitate project implementation and coordinate research activities at participating schools.

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of professional development and training activities for participating teachers across multiple school sites.

  • Conduct classroom observations to monitor implementation of instructional practices and provide constructive feedback (i.e., coaching) to support fidelity of implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, special education, educational research, English, or a related field.

  • Five years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience.

  • Experience using REDCap for data collection, management, and reporting.

  • Experience administering educational assessments and managing confidential or sensitive data.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Knowledge of FERPA, IRB procedures, and human subjects research requirements.

  • Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a research team, incorporate feedback, and interact professionally with school personnel and project partners.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.

  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to participating school sites throughout Texas.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in education, special education, educational psychology, educational research, English, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience supporting or conducting university-based education research projects.

  • Experience working with students with disabilities and/or students experiencing difficulties in reading.

  • Experience conducting classroom observations, instructional coaching, or professional development for educators.

  • Experience with research data management systems, implementation fidelity measurement, and quantitative or qualitative data analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various audiences, including students, teachers, administrators, researchers, and community stakeholders.

Salary Range

$57,000 - $63,000
