Job Description
Position Summary
Under the supervision of a Radiologist, utilizes specialized knowledge and skills to produce high quality mammographic images for screening and/or diagnosis, invasive breast procedures and DEXA exams for specified patient population. Assumes responsibility for directing and controlling qualitative and quantitative standards of work performed at Bearden-Josey Centers of Breast Health.
Minimum Requirements
Education
· Associate’s Degree from an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology
Experience
· Documented 40 hours of training specific to mammography as required by the FDA
· Documented 8 hours training in each mammography modality to be used to perform exam as required by the FDA
· Documented performance of 200 mammogram exams in the last two years as required by the FDA
· Documented 15 hours of continuing education , 3 years consecutively as required by the FDA
License/Registration/Certifications
· ARRT registry in Radiography with registry or registry eligible status in Mammography
· South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Licenses
· Current Basis Life Support (CPR and AED) provider

Core Job Responsibilities
· Perform screening and/or diagnostic mammograms and bone densitometry exams
· Assist radiologist with invasive breast procedures
· Review images for quality and tissue acquisition
· Explain procedure to patient reducing anxieties and obtain patient history relevant to exam
· As requested by radiologist communicate results to patient
· Open communication with scheduling and registration to ensure appropriate physician order is obtained
· Engagement with Breast Imaging Navigator as needed to assist with further patient needs or appointments
· General equipment assessment, reporting any issues to Breast
· Other Duties as assigned
