Job Description: Part-Time Cook

Location: Embassy Suites by Hilton – Palmdale, California
Department: Food & Beverage / Culinary
Reports To: Executive Chef / Food & Beverage Manager
Status: Part-Time

Position Overview

The Part time Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with Embassy Suites and Hilton brand standards. This position requires a passion for food preparation, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing an excellent guest dining experience. The cook will support breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquet operations as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and plate food items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and Hilton brand guidelines.
Support breakfast buffet, made-to-order stations, and banquet/event dining.
Ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with local health and safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, prep areas, and equipment.
Assist with inventory control by minimizing waste and properly storing products.
Follow all Hilton service standards to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Communicate effectively with fellow team members, servers, and management to ensure smooth service.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications

Previous cooking or culinary experience in a hotel, restaurant, or similar environment preferred.
Basic knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safety practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Availability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Food Handler’s Permit/Certification required (must obtain prior to start).

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
