Machine Operator
Location: Reading, PA
All Shifts: Rotating (1st and 2nd) and 3rd Shift
Pay Rate: Starting at $24.23/hr plus shift differential, with potential rate increases after initial training period
We’re seeking a skilled Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team in extrusion and compression molding departments. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment in alignment with our quality, safety, and production standards. Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Operation:
Set up and operate equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), schedules, and order specifications. Coordinate with setup operators during teardowns and new setups. - Process Monitoring:
Continuously monitor equipment, materials, and environmental conditions to detect issues and ensure smooth operation. Make real-time adjustments as needed. - Quality Control:
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and internal quality standards. Document all findings and take corrective action when necessary. - Documentation & Reporting:
Accurately record production data using production systems and following all required documentation protocols. - Preventive Maintenance & Housekeeping:
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning tasks to maintain machine efficiency and workplace safety (6S practices). Support general upkeep of the production area. - Safety & Compliance:
Follow all company safety protocols, SOPs, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure a safe work environment. - Other Duties as Assigned:
Support the team with additional tasks, including training new employees and assisting with process improvements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and powered hand trucks to load materials and transport finished goods
- Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on machines and tools
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED required
- OSHA-certified forklift operation experience (stand-up and walk-behind trucks), preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using hand/power tools and measuring instruments
- Understanding of raw materials, production flow, and quality control practices
- Computer proficiency, especially in ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety
Pay Transparency:
The salary range for this position is $24.32. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
