The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Extrusion Operator to join our manufacturing team based at Old Toongabbie. In this role, you will operate a range of machines and systems within the Extrusion Department, ensuring all processes are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with our world-class quality standards.
This role is an afternoon shift position (3pm-11pm) based at Baxter’s Old Toongabbie facility.
Responsibilities
Operate extrusion machinery and associated systems to meet daily production targets
Perform machine setup, changeovers, and parameter verification in line with production plans
Monitor production lines, troubleshoot issues, and minimise downtime
Conduct visual and periodic quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
Complete roll/spool release processes in accordance with SOPs and system requirements
Accurately maintain batch records and production documentation in line with GMP and GDP standards
Follow product isolation processes and escalation protocols for defects or breakdowns
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with WHS policies and 6S standards
Communicate effectively with the Leading Hand and Supervisor on safety, quality, or operational issues
Support continuous improvement by identifying and reporting process or equipment concerns
Complete required training and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Key Requirements
Experience in machine operation, ideally within manufacturing or healthcare environments
Prior experience with plastic processing is good to have
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and resolve problems efficiently
Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to achieving production goals
Strong communication skills and ability to accurately report information
Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a clean environment
Willingness to learn and complete required training.
