Job Summary:
The ESA Aftermarket Senior Field Service Engineer (FSE) role will work closely with operational level (O-Level) customers to define sustainment and support needs for Head Up Display (HUD) Systems and other avionics systems on the F-16, F/A-18, F-15, V-22, AH-64 and other platforms. The Senior FSE will support the capture of new business to assure the continued success and growth of the Aftermarket business unit. Frequent travel to customer locations both in the US and International locations including the Middle East, Asia, South America and Europe will be required. When not traveling, the Senior FSE will prove support to engineering and operations in Talladega, Alabama to include: HUD and avionics troubleshooting and repairs, test equipment design and development and field failure reporting, analysis and corrective actions (FRACAS) planning among other tasks.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Act as a HUD Technical Expert; troubleshooting, testing, repair and demonstrations.
Travel to customer sites to evaluate the sustainment and support needs of customers operating F-16s, F/A-18s, F-15s, V-22s, AH-64s and other platforms
Make recommendations on repairs, spares and test equipment to improve customers’ operational readiness for HUDs and other avionics.
Provide technical support to O-level customers for the test and evaluation of avionics including: Head Up Displays (HUDs), Multi-Function Displays (MFDs), Fire Control Radars, Electronic Warfare Systems, Communication / Navigation and other electronics systems.
Identify, qualify and support new business capture opportunities with US and international customers related to HUDs and avionics sustainment.
Participate in the development and delivery of training programs for customers and team members.
Document and report on system performance, issues, and resolutions for continuous improvement.
Establish and maintain direct, personal relationships with key customers.
Establish and maintain relationships with key personnel within ESA and ESL
Continuously assess ES Aftermarket capabilities against customer needs and requirements.
Assess and make recommendations for ESA Aftermarket to partner with ESL and/or other companies where opportunities exist for new business.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support the design and implementation of system modifications
Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology and/or 10+ years of avionics repair and troubleshooting on F-16 or other similar military aircraft.
Extensive experience in operational level testing and troubleshooting of avionics systems on the F-16 or similar platform including: HUDs, MFDs, Comm/Nav, Radars and EW systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment related to avionics systems.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of military standards and protocols related to HUDs, Displays, avionics, radar and electronic warfare systems.
Experience with system integration and testing of complex electronic systems.
Certifications in relevant technologies or systems are a plus

Travel/Physical Requirements:
Extensive travel (>50%) required to visit customer sites in US and International locations including: Middle East, Asia, South America and Europe
