Duties and Responsibilities: |
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform functional testing of assemblies and finished products using established test procedures
- Perform scheduled maintenance on the wind tunnel
- Perform wind tunnel calibration
- Conduct wind tunnel testing on production, repair, and engineering test articles.
- Operate and maintain electronic test equipment, including:

- Multimeters
- Dielectric (hipot) testers
- Power supplies
- Oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools
- Troubleshoot and diagnose failed units to determine root causes of defects
- Repair or assist in repair of failed equipment and verify corrective actions
- Record and document test results, failures, and repairs accurately
- Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on recurring issues
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety policies, and test procedures
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment as required
§ Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, procedures, specifications and other written and verbal instructions to plan, check, install, test, and evaluate results on aircraft components and systems.
§ Perform visual and dimensional inspections of internal and supplier produced product, materials, and tooling in all work centers.
§ Identify service ability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
§ Evaluate Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP's) to determine that no equipment malfunctions have affected the quality of the results.
§ Observes readings on meters and gauges, and other displays and performance of device or instrument to identify functional defects and determine requirements.
§ Assemble and disassemble engineering test hardware and test systems.
§ Document and recommend process improvements in cooperation with fellow employees and supervision.
§ Records test data and documentation relating to inspection procedures
§ Maintain detailed records.
§ Verification of all tolerances.
§ Rejects malfunctioning devices and routes devices to specified department for rework.
§ Perform general departmental housekeeping regularly
§ Sustain production standards and quality
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent education, training, and/or related work experience.
0-2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to work with ITAR products and related data without restriction.
Skill Set Required:
Use of basic hand tools and measuring devices (calipers, etc.)
Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
Basic computer skills
Basic math skills (i.e., may have to do conversions to decimals)
Basic verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Restrictions limited only by individual’s inability to perform essential job duties and where an unsafe condition would result for the individual or surrounding employees.
Required lifting weight: 35 lbs. Lifting Frequency: Daily
Sitting (10% of the time), standing (90% of the time), reaching, bending, and moving for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in a Manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
Requires repetitive movement
Safety Hazard:
Works with power tools and equipment.
Requires the use of proper PPE when necessary
Constantly working with computers, test equipment, and calibration procedures that require extended periods of sitting and concentration.
