Project Title:
Improving Process Monitoring Pre-Map Data Through Basic Data Analysis
Project Description:
This project focuses on improving the understanding and quality of process monitoring pre-map data used in tool qualification activities.
The intern will learn how pre-map data is collected and reviewed, and explore simple methods to identify abnormal patterns or inconsistencies in the data. The project provides guided exposure to data analysis in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Objective of the project:
To improve visibility of pre-map data patterns and support early identification of potential data inconsistencies through basic analysis techniques.
Project Scope:
- Learn how process monitoring pre-map data is used in manufacturing operations
- Review and organise datasets to identify basic trends or patterns
- Apply simple logic or rules to highlight abnormal or inconsistent data points
- Use basic tools (e.g. Excel or scripting tools) to explore data analysis approaches
- Validate findings using sample or historical datasets
- Document observations and learning outcomes
Learning Opportunities:
- Gain exposure to semiconductor manufacturing and tool qualification processes
- Develop basic understanding of data quality and data analysis concepts
- Learn how data is used to support engineering decision-making
- Build foundational skills in data handling and simple analysis tools
- Experience working in a structured manufacturing environment
Deliverable:
- Basic data analysis tool or file (e.g. Excel-based or simple script)
- Simple logic or criteria to identify abnormal data patterns
- Documentation of findings and analysis approach
- Final presentation summarising learning outcomes
Impact of Project:
- Improved awareness of data quality considerations in manufacturing
- Contribution to simple, structured approaches for data review and monitoring
- Support better understanding of tool qualification processes
Skillsets Required:
- Basic knowledge of Excel or simple programming (e.g. Python is a plus)
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and follow structured guidance
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Course of Interests:
