The Opportunity

This position works out in our Mexico City office, with Abbott Diabetes Care Division.  (ADC)

In ADC, We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

Hybrid leader between field and strategy responsible for developing and coordinating strategic promotion and sales activities for Abbott’s Diabetes Care products through sales channels, healthcare professionals (HCPs), consumers, hospitals, trade marketing, market access, and government. This role is also responsible for structuring, developing, and empowering the medical sales representative force to drive adoption of FreeStyle Libre as a complete digital ecosystem for continuous glucose monitoring. The role owns the demand engine of the organization, creating medical and patient conviction to meet commercial and financial objectives for the country.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead adoption of the digital ecosystem, including LibreLink, LibreView, and patient‑physician connectivity.
  • Design and implement demand generation strategies through the medical sales force with accountability for physician adoption and patient conversion.
  • Supervise district managers, providing coaching, feedback, and training aligned with performance metrics.
  • Structure territorial coverage models, including physician segmentation, key hospitals, and clinics.
  • Develop incentive plans, targets, and evaluation systems for the medical sales force.
  • Partner with Marketing and Medical Affairs to create continuous medical education programs.
  • Design patient adoption pathways from first sensor use to long‑term ecosystem loyalty.
  • Translate medical insights into effective clinical messages and promotional materials.
  • Implement field activity dashboards and manage demand generation budgets and ROI.
  • Develop alliances with diabetes associations, medical societies, and key opinion leaders.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Management to ensure demand is captured at point of sale.
  • Collaborate with Market Access and Government Sales teams to maximize opportunities.
  • Manage regional P&L, integrating financial considerations into strategy execution.
  • Use business analytics and market insights to build omnichannel engagement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with the Commercial Code of Conduct, ethics policies, and local regulations.
  • Serve as a member of the ADC Mexico Staff.


Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Specialization in Medical Commercialization desired.

Experience

  • 8–12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • At least 4 years managing medical sales forces.
  • Experience in diabetes, endocrinology, cardiometabolic, medical technology, or digital health preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexico’s healthcare ecosystem (IMSS, ISSSTE, private sector, clinics).
  • Ability to translate complex clinical concepts into clear value messages.

Language

  • Advanced English.

Travel

  • Availability to travel up to 50% domestically.
