Job Overview

Ebenezer Senior Care & Living is looking for a Float Chef to join our corporate culinary float team! This cook position is responsible for floating to different Ebenezer locations to fulfill Chef vacancies ensuring that meals are prepared and presented in accordance with applicable regulations and customer expectations.

 

This nutrition schedule includes;

  • 80 hours every two weeks
  • Full time; Day/Early evening shifts - 10 hour shifts
  • Includes every other weekend with variable weekdays

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a flexible float schedule to support on-site dining operations by filling chef vacancies at various Ebenezer locations, mentoring and training chefs, and assisting with special events and health inspections.
  • Assists with placing orders through the online ordering platform (eMenu) and processes PO's and subsequent invoicing requirements.
  • Supports front-of-house service and performs tasks such as dishwashing when needed.
  • Prepare and cook food items to specified temperatures, following standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality, nutritional value, and proper portioning. Weigh and measure ingredients per standardized recipes.
  • Assemble meals and bakery items within designated time frames, complete daily preparation tasks accurately, and assist with special events.
  • Ensure safe food handling by following infection control and safety policies, including proper handwashing, glove use, and adherence to hygiene and dress codes.
  • Accurately document food, refrigeration, and sanitation temperatures, cover, date, and label items.
  • Proper knowledge and preparation of texturized diets utilizing International Dysphagia Diet Standardization (IDDSI) standards.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by following proper cleaning schedules, using recommended equipment and chemicals, separating clean and dirty areas, and thoroughly scrubbing pots and pans as required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to supervise kitchen staff, manage daily operations and customer service in the supervisor’s absence, and effectively communicate resident and guest feedback on meal and service quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18-Years old
  • Food Protection Manager Certification ANAB-CFP accredited food sanitation program within 90 Days or -

Preferred Qualifications

  • - Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) Must be issued by State of MN for locations in state of MN.
  • Technical Training or associate degree – Food Service
  • One to three years of previous experience
  • Working knowledge of basic Microsoft applications

Compensation Disclaimer

This position provides one flat hourly rate, with regular reviews to ensure competitiveness with themarket. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
