Salary: £44k to £55k

The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role, or a narrower hiring range published within that band, and is benchmarked against the external market. Leonardo in Edinburgh are recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer within the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business.
As Senior Quality Engineer you will interact at Integrated Project Team (IPT) level, working in partnership with the Operations team / IPT.
What you’ll do as a Senior Quality Engineer:
- Offer advice, support and assistance on all Quality Assurance / Quality Control matters
- Support Principal Quality Engineer in in driving objectives to meet / exceed targets
- Contribute actively to IPT requirement to deliver a compliant product in a timely manner meeting all cost and safety requirements
- Support creation of Quality Plans defining quality assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity and Improvement within the Programme and associated Projects, operating in line with the requirements of the Operational Framework
- Provide leadership to the Assurance Teams in order to meet Programme and IPT objectives
- Actively ensure Leonardo Production System goals for Quality KPIs
- Lead the Assurance function’s improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product and Project Lifecycle
- Mentor others in order to grow Quality excellence within the Programme/Projects
- Take leadership in ensuring concessions / production permits are processed correctly and in timely manner
- Support achievement of quality assurance milestones within the Programme, Product and Project lifecycle
- Actively manage root cause and corrective action investigations
What you’ll bring:
- Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly "complex" industry.
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge within the areas of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement.
- Some knowledge and practical experience of Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification and First Article Inspection.
- Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals, in 'the language of the business'.
- Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
- Be able to demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
- Have demonstrated experience working in high precision manufacturing environment.

This role will require National Security Vetting to SC level. It is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. A range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) will apply, this will include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
