Serve as Owner's representative.
The Construction Manager shall report to the Sr. Construction Manager and is responsible for managing and coordinating construction activities of the Design/Builder. The Construction Manager acts as the liaison for pre-construction and construction activities, including leading safety, security, and quality for the Program. The Terminal 5 Renovation and Reconstruction Project covers the full demolition and rebuild of the Terminal 5 headhouse and concourse, as well as various enabling scopes to vacate the existing building.

- Leader in stakeholder engagement to identify, communicate, resolve, and accomplish their needs, while preserving project scope, schedule, and budget constraints
- Knowledge of construction contracting practices and methodologies
- Knowledge and experience in the project construction life cycle, from pre-construction to estimating/buyout, phasing, implementation, and closeout
- Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with design and construction professionals, geared toward open communication and mutual problem-solving in the best interest of the project and all parties involved
- Monitor all on-site field construction activities associated with project completion
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines used during construction, including methods and techniques for installation
- Ensure construction operations follow approved work plans and Area Shutdown Requests (ASRs), and that all proper notifications are made
- Become thoroughly familiar with contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected
- Ensure all work is performed and inspected in accordance with the latest plans and specifications, including approved changes, submittals, and RFIs
- Work with the Design/Builder and stakeholders to develop overall construction planning and identify critical milestones and priorities
- Monitor budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scope and schedule
- Monitor assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and meet budget goals
- Identify potential problem areas and take preventive action to ensure critical milestones are met for each project phase
- Ensure the use of sound and safe construction practices to achieve required quality control at maximum efficiency and minimum cost
- Prepare periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for senior management and clients
- Ensure effective implementation of all policies and procedures, including project labor agreement policies
- Contribute to the advancement of ADG’s goals through productive collaboration with all stakeholders
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate
- Participate in necessary coordination meetings with the Design/Builder, trade partners, stakeholders, LAWA Operations, and others
- Review contractor potential change order claims for merit and negotiate to final resolution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
- Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems (PM Web)
- 10 years or more of experience, preferably on airport projects
- Experience with projects valued at more than $100 million
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build
- Proven ability to perform in a management capacity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
- Multiple positions are anticipated — submitted experience should emphasize airport concourse scope, airport headhouse scope, or site/civil scope
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or other related technical field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, or other relevant professional licensure and/or certifications
- May assume other duties as required/needed.

- This is a Monday–Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAX
- Maybe required to work various shifts as needed.
- The position will require the candidate to have the ability to transit to, from, and between project sites.
- LAWA has required the candidates be local and available fully on-site for this field position.
- Prevailing Wage Position
