Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Soldering Technician.
The hours for this role are 7am-3:30pm
The hourly rate for this position is $24.50 - $27.50 per hour.

What you’ll do:
Job summary
Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a Soldering Technician within the Space Team. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility. Utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform mechanical soldering and other manufacturing processes. Maintains standards of quality, production, and safety; complies with all company policies and works as part of a team to ensure that daily goals are met.
Job responsibilities
• Responsible for ensuring that compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
• Obtain and maintain Certified Operator Status and J-Standard.
• Obtain Space Addendum, NASA crimp certification, IPC-620, following site guidelines (As applicable).
• Perform manufacturing processes on low to moderate complexity assemblies following written instructions.
• Perform soldering and crimping operations of wires on mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements as required.
• Perform detailed soldering operations while working under a microscope as required.
• Ability to perform low to moderate complexity electrical test procedures using test equipment while following written acceptance documents.
• Document test results on data sheets and/or record test data in electronic data collection system.
• Ability to communicate problems in product or quality in to supervisor or manager clearly and concisely.
• Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical assemblies issues.
• Basic experience with ERP systems and standard Microsoft applications.
Qualifications:
Basic qualifications
Education level required
• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Years and area of experience required
• 2 years of relevant solder/electrical experience
Technical knowledge
• Proficient using various solder equipment, hand tools and measuring devices. Follows work instructions, perform tasks without supervision and assist others.
Soft skills
• Ability to communicate effectively, manage time and adapt to various work environments.

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred qualifications
Education level required
• Associate’s Degree or Equivalent experience.
Years and area of experience required
• 5 years of Aerospace solder and crimp experience
Technical knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to complete all required technical skills above
Soft skills
• Demonstrated ability/experience with all soft skills listed above
Additional
• Demonstrated understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts
