Job Description

About Hometouch

Hometouch is a CQC-regulated live-in care provider specialising in dementia care. We connect families with experienced, highly vetted live-in carers, supported by a clinical team committed to outstanding person-centred care.

We are an ambitious, technology-enabled business backed by leading investors. Our clinical quality is central to our commercial proposition — we are working towards a CQC Outstanding rating and are investing in clinical leadership to get there. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growth-stage business where quality and commercial success are inseparable.

Role Summary

The Registered Manager is the clinical and regulatory cornerstone of Hometouch. You will hold CQC registration on behalf of the business, lead our clinical governance framework, and be the principal point of accountability for the quality and safety of our regulated care service.

This is not a back-office compliance role. We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional or a clinical governance specialist with genuine dementia expertise, the confidence to lead a care team and shape clinical standards, and the commercial awareness to support our growth. You will work closely with the CEO, COO and Head of Clinical Governance to ensure our regulated service is outstanding in every respect.

Key Responsibilities

1.CQC Registration & Regulatory Leadership

• Hold and maintain CQC registration as Registered Manager; take direct responsibility for the regulated service

• Ensure the service meets all fundamental standards, including Regulations 9, 12, 17, 18, 19 and 20

• Lead preparation for CQC inspections; produce evidence portfolios and coordinate inspection-readiness activities

• Submit all statutory notifications accurately and on time

• Maintain and continuously improve the service's regulatory compliance records and quality audit programme

2. Dementia Care Quality & Clinical Standards

• Set and embed clinical standards for dementia care across the regulated service

• Lead the design and review of complex dementia care plans, risk assessments and mental capacity assessments

• Act as the clinical authority on dementia best practice — advising carers, families and the wider team

• Develop and deliver dementia-specific training and competency frameworks for the carer workforce

• Champion person-centred, life story-based approaches to dementia care across all client interactions

3. Clinical Governance & Safety

• Oversee the clinical governance framework: audits, care plan reviews, incident investigation, complaints management

• Chair the weekly CQC and MDT meetings; ensure actions are followed up and outcomes documented

• Lead safeguarding investigations in line with local authority and CQC expectations

• Maintain oversight of medication management, manual handling competencies and complex care protocols (PEG, trache, spinal care)

• Ensure all records in PASS and clinical systems are accurate, contemporaneous and audit-ready

4. Team Leadership & Carer Workforce

• Lead clinical supervision, appraisals and performance management for the nursing and clinical team (Nursing Lead, clinical coordinators)

• Oversee carer recruitment compliance in line with Regulation 19 and Schedule 3; ensure all fitness-to-practice checks are robust

• Design and deliver mandatory training, induction and ongoing CPD for carers on the regulated pathway

• Support the Head of Recruitment in ensuring carer quality standards are upheld at the point of onboarding

5. Commercial Contribution & Growth

• Participate in complex family consultations and clinical assessments for high-acuity or complex dementia enquiries

• Support the introductory-to-regulated transition pipeline: identify clients suitable for regulated service and work with the account management team to facilitate transition

• Contribute to the sales and partnerships narrative — including supporting clinically credible content for partner outreach and family communications

• Provide clinical input into product development and technology roadmaps to improve the quality of the care experience

• Represent Hometouch externally at clinical events, partner meetings and with referral sources such as NHS discharge teams, memory clinics and OTs

6. Reporting & Governance

• Produce monthly and quarterly quality and compliance reports for the CEO and board

• Contribute to the CQC Outstanding evidence file and self-assessment on an ongoing basis

• Flag material clinical risks, near misses or systemic concerns to the CEO and Nominated
