PACMac Associate

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for safely operating the PACMac machine. This role will perform duties in compliance with all company policies and procedures, regulatory agency guidelines and all Federal and State legal requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:       

• Operate PACMac machine including loading, cutting and/ or feeding film through the machine; ensure proper color is loaded based on product requirement
• Monitor bag weights  and ensure correct date and seals on all bags are good
• Maintain machine, including covering during wash downs to ensure in optimal operating
• Rework bags/product back into the process as needed
• Follow and promote all safety initiatives, (i.e. wear appropriate PPE when mandatory)  helping to maintain a zero accident culture
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

  EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Minimum 6 months experience in a poultry processing plant
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to determine if product does/ does not meet specification standards
• Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment

  SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work non-standard shifts (weekends, off shift and holidays) as needed
• Work in a cold, wet environment
• Ability to work in a noisy environment (>85 decibels)
