Job Description

Mission
To support the integrity and accuracy of Groq's financial reporting by applying deep technical accounting expertise, ensuring GAAP compliance, and helping build the scalable accounting infrastructure needed to support a high-growth, public-facing technology company.

Location: Remote, US

Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:

Technical Accounting & Compliance
  • Ability to work with Controller / Technical Accounting personnel to prepare technical accounting memoranda to support accounting positions taken and liaise with auditors, external advisors
  • Assist in drafting financial statements, both primary and footnotes and as needed, DISCO, Proforma and Rule 3-05 financial statements
  • Prepare journal entries to support accounting positions taken
  • Conform NetSuite to requirements of non-GAAP metrics under Regulation G and to capture information needed for financial statement footnotes

Accounting projects
  • Work with the finance team and Controller to work on multiple accounting projects on an as needed basis, e.g. accrual accounting search for unrecorded liabilities, fixed asset accounting / placed in service for fixed asset accounting for sales and use tax audits
  • Interface with external auditors for PBC requests and responses for PCAOB audits

Ideal candidates have/are:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license preferred
  • 5-7+ years of corporate accounting experience with a public company and/or Big 4 public accounting background
  • Proficiency in NetSuite or comparable ERP systems
  • Experience dealing with PCAOB auditors and first year audits a plus
  • Experience preparing or reviewing technical accounting memos and conducting GAAP research
  • Ability to learn neocloud business model and AI and use this knowledge for technical accounting purposes
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, technical accounting and financial reporting is not considered a full time role, so must be able to work in other areas of need
  • Familiarity with SEC Regulation S-X, S-K, G, a positive, but not required

Compensation
Groq is committed to providing competitive compensation through our Total Cash philosophy, which incorporates potential bonus value directly into base pay. The total cash salary range for this position, which is inclusive of the potential bonus value, is $115,900 to $156,700, with individual placement determined by your geographic location, experience, skills, and alignment with internal compensation standards. This range is specific to candidates located in the United States. Compensation for international candidates will vary based on local market dynamics. Beyond cash compensation, Groq currently offers a quarterly bonus as an interim alternative to equity, with plans to introduce long term incentive program participation in the near term future. Employees also receive a robust suite of benefits.
