Departmental Overview

Compensation / Benefits

  • $14.86-$24.27/hr. based on previous work experience.

The Patient Navigation Clinic provides care coordination and patient outreach across the care continuum.  The team consists of highly skilled nurses, providers, and support staff who follow patients care from Specialty Provider referral to Specialty Provider appointment.  The team ensures that the patient receives the right care, for the right amount of time at every level of service to achieve the best outcome possible.

  • Obtains all patient and insurance information and responsible for check in/out patients
  • Performs insurance verification and patient payment collection
  • Supports effective and efficient patient care and clinic flow
  • Manages documents appropriately
  • Possesses critical thinking skills and provides feedback for continuous improvement
  • Successfully receives direction and ensures timely and accurate follow-through of assignments

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Computer knowledge required
  • Prefer additional education in medical terminology, electronic medical record training, or business classes

Experience

  • One year clerical experience and six months healthcare experience are required
  • Prefer medical office, insurance, hospital or computer experience
  • Keyboard skills accurate 40 wpm
  • Expertise in customer relations, telephone skills and computer applications is required

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
