Job Description
We are a developer, investor, and operator of power generation and desalinated water plants, with 90 assets in operation, construction, or advanced development across 13 countries.
Job Purpose
Lead R&D strategy and partnership platform development for ACWA's seawater desalination projects. Drive technology and process innovation and establish desalination pilot platforms to support project delivery and market demands.
Key Duties
- Build and manage the seawater desalination R&D and pilot platform, identifying, evaluating, and integrating emerging technologies and products.
- Establish and manage R&D collaboration with research institutes, universities, OEMs, and government entities.
- Translate industry and project requirements into actionable R&D plans and technology roadmaps.
- Oversee R&D project delivery, including timeline, budget, and internal/external stakeholder coordination.
Qualification
- Master's degree or above in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years (preferably 8+ years) of experience in process engineering, technology development, or R&D project management within the water treatment industry.
- Preference for candidates from specialized desalination R&D institutes, OEMs, engineering design institutes, or investment/operation enterprises.
- Demonstrated success in building R&D partnerships, managing platforms, and driving technology innovation within a project-driven environment.
Skills
- Deep process engineering expertise in SWRO, MED, or related thermal/membrane desalination technologies.
- Proven capability in full-cycle R&D project management, including schedule control, budget management, and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong insight into industry demand and technology roadmap planning.
- Excellent collaboration, outreach, and communication skills.
